Post January 2022
We undertook a review of the adaptations we had made and have adopted those that we felt were a process enhancement for us and you, our customers. These subtle and unobtrusive changes are now simply part of our standard processes.
December 2021
We continue to work in a Covid secure way with the vast majority of our work being outside of our main premises.
As a visitor it remains the case that you will be unable to enter the premises except to finalize any administration requirements at the front entrance. We have found this to be a very effective way of ensuring compliance throughout the pandemic given the ventilation provided.

In anticipation of re-opening in April we have revisited all of our protocols and remain confident that we have a robust set of processes in place to ensure the safety of our customers and staff at all times.
We ask that all customers work with us when visiting our premises to ensure that we jointly comply both in terms of formal procedures and the intended spirit of the rules.
We kindly remind all customers and visitors that they will not be able to enter our premises at any time. All fittings and removals will be undertaken outside until further notice. In the case of inclement weather we may ask you to park your vehicle inside the main fitting bay but to remain in your vehicle.
We have hand sanitizer on site should you need it. Please ask.

As you would expect we continue to remain fully abreast of the most recent developments & changes to protocols in relation to COVID-19. The safety of our staff & our customers is our number one priority.
We have learnt much since re-opening and the COVID related processes that we employ are now second nature. Please continue to work with us to maintain adequate social distancing at all times.
Should you need to come into our premises we will ask you to wear a face-mask but this will be on an exception basis. As the weather continues to become more inclement, it would be wise to ensure that you have warm layers for when you are outside of the vehicle.

Our premises are not standard retail premises. It’s also the case that we work outside for long periods but in light of the most recent government advice, and to promote a safe work environment, we will ask you to kindly remain outside during the period of the fitting/removal appointment with us. There will be no access inside the building for visiting customers. This will then allow the wearing of a face-mask for instance to be a matter of personal choice.
In most cases you’ll be able to remain in your vehicle but should we need you to vacate it, we do have a few chairs available. It would also be helpful if the number of accompanying passengers be kept to a minimum as the outdoor space in which we work can be quite busy with vehicles coming in and out.
If children are with you through necessity they must be under close adult supervision at all times.
We anticipate the “demonstration” to be slightly challenging given the distance to be maintained but everyone does receive an email post install with a video highlighting usage, advice & guidance whist you have our equipment on hire.
We have hand santizer placed on a table on the threshold which you are welcome to use.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and support. #staysafe

So today we are formally open again for business. It’s been a long, but clearly necessary time coming!!
The re-opening will clearly bring a few new challenges for us all and numerous changes to our standard processes. We’ll quickly adapt and we ask that you bear with us as we manage through this transitional phase.
Please help us by following the advice you’ll be provided by on-site staff to maintain safe & appropriate social distancing throughout your time with us.
All equipment is washed between hires and standard touch points will be sanitized again at the end of the fitting process. Keys & key fobs will be sprayed before being handed over. And we have a groovy, super low tech process for signatures that will blow you away!
May 1st 2020
We remain closed for fittings & removals etc but are open by phone, email and online to help you make your plans for future trips.

With the unprecedented spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus at the forefront of everyone’s minds, the team here at Welwyn Roofbox Hire are doing all we can to ensure business as usual, to the extent that the current restrictions allow.
In terms of the day to day admin, booking management etc., this can be done flexibly from wherever the laptop is. Our phone service is set up in such a way that a physical land line to our office is not a limitation. As such, in that regard we are open as usual for phone and email contact.
With regards to roofbox and associated equipment hire this is assessed on a case by case basis, dependent on the need of the hirer but in short, it should be in line with current government advice in relation to travel. We have not imposed an outright ban as we wish to ensure that we are able to support these very specific instances where a roofbox may be the difference between safe & essential travel and not.
If you wish to discuss options regards an existing booking please do contact us on 01438 289030 to discuss how we can help. We will endeavor to be as flexible and as reasonable as we can given the current situation but at the same time, we ask for your understanding as we collectively navigate our way through these unprecedented times.
Looking ahead, the current restrictions will at some stage be behind us and to that end, we are managing new quote requests, some of which are undated and non-specific, on a daily basis. We already have stored demand and that will only increase as the restrictions are lifted. At that stage, there will be a practical limit as to just how much we can deal with so if you are planning a trip in the medium term, please don’t hold back with your outline requirements.
Additionally, all roofboxes at the time or fitting will be have been thoroughly washed and cleaned, as well as having a sanitizer wipe down in key areas such as the locking points and clamps.
In the meantime, to you and your families, please practice social distancing and above all, be safe!!
